buying new fridge - will it be compatable with Kitchen wall units

Hi
I need a new fridge and liked the look of this one
http://www.whirlpool.co.uk/app.cnt/whr/en_GB/pageid/pgproddtl001/catid/2/subcatid/8/prodid/29277
it will stand by itself for the time being.

Within the next 2 years i plan to completely replace the existing kitchen, and am concerned that choice fridge would (severely) limit the choice of kitchen in terms of getting the right size of wall unit above the fridge? Would this be the case or are most kitchen units and fridges designed to agreeable sizes?

Thanks for any assistance.

Have a look at the cabinets offered by whichever kitchen supplier you plan to use. Most will have a 'standard' over fridge cabinet. Compare the size of this, plus the height of the fridge, with the height of one of their tall units.

But, cabinets with flat doors can also be cut to size.

eg, I have just had a new Ikea kitchen put in. I think the tall units are 230cm tall, so we have put all our wall cabinets with this height as the upper limit.

However, we have an american f/f, which is 90cm wide, but Ikea only do a 60cm wide over fridge cabinet. At the advise of the carpenter fitting it, we bought another 2 normal wall cabinets, & he cut them down. It looks great, & was very easy for him to do. Even the high gloss doors were cut well, & sealed with edging strip at the top, so not visible in any way.
