Those popups were the first thing I turned off, they're not that important and after a while they get very very annoying, "yes I want to install that program I wouldn't have tried to if I didn't want to!"

The popups are for really stupid people who click on the exe file in random emails.

Can you tell me how you turned them off please?

Ok in the "Windows Help and Support" type in the Search Box "User Account Control" and follow the instructions, also are you an administrator on the computer?

    How would I know this?
I think I am, I didn't even set up seperate log in accounts, it just loads straight to the only one, mine.

In which case you should be an administrator. I have no idea whats going on if you can't turn it on and off in User Accounts, because thats where its meant to be.

Turning off UACUse the following procedure to disable UAC.
To perform the following procedure, you must be able to log on with or provide the credentials of a member of the local Administrators group.

    Important:

Turning off UAC reduces the security of your computer and may expose you to increased risk from malicious software. We do not recommend leaving UAC disabled.

    To turn off UAC

    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    2. In Control Panel, click User Accounts.
    3. In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts.
    4. In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off.
    5. If UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the User Account Control message appears. Click Continue.
    6. Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, and then click OK.
    7. Click Restart Now to apply the change right away, or click Restart Later and close the User Accounts tasks window.

This is taken from M$ website. Now it might have something to do with you One Care thing but I wouldn't know as I don't use it.

    c.gif Windows Live Helpleft_nav_arrow.gifBackForwardright_nav_arrow.gif
print_icon.gifPrintConvert your file system from FAT to NTFS

Windows XP and Windows Vista store, organize, and retrieve files on your hard disk (Used for long-term storage and retrieval of data needed by your computer. Your programs, operating system, and most of your files are stored on your hard disk.) with one of three file systems: FAT, FAT32, or NTFS. Because the NTFS file system is usually more secure than FAT and FAT32 file systems, we recommend that you use NTFS with Windows Live OneCare.
If you back up your files with an external hard disk (A removable hard disk that connects to your computer and uses a USB or an IEEE 1394 ("FireWire") connection.) that is formatted with FAT, we recommend that you convert the disk to NTFS. You can convert the disk without losing any data, and conversion to NTFS will help make the disk more secure and efficient.
    Important

If you plan to share a hard disk with computers that don't run Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows Server 2003, don't convert your drive to NTFS.

To convert your file system from FAT to NTFS:
    1. In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press ENTER.
      –or–

In Windows Vista, click Start, click in the Start Search box, and then type command prompt. Under Programs, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
    2. Type convertDrive letter : /FS:NTFS, where Drive letter is the letter of the disk that you want to convert. For example, if your external hard disk drive is drive E, type convert E: /FS:NTFS.
    3. Press ENTER.

It then says "The type of file system is FAT32. Enter current volume lable for drive J:"

This is where I get stuck.......

Its 74.5 GB, but no matter what I type in, it doesn't like it.
