Excellent result regarding the compensation, but having just read this thread my wife and I are going through similar issues.

The major exceptions between our complaint and Steve's is that the kitchen hasn't been delivered or fitted yet, despite getting repeated phone calls from B&Q asking us whether we are happy with the kitchen, which was ordered 4 months ago and from the installer asking us why we aren't home to let him fit the kitchen a week early.

Needless to say I'll be following a similar process to Steve to get a resolution to this above and beyond the usual 'Sorry I don't know how that happened' platitudes I get when I keep chasing B&Q.

Decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and cancelled after wasting four months as they didn't know whether or not the fitter was coming or not.

Then had more terrible service trying to get a refund as they said they couldn't do this until after the delivery date of the goods, so it is fine for them to charge us for goods and services that we have not and will never receive just in case they make another mistake and deliver the goods.

Finally got a call on the delivery dateafter cancelling saying that they couldn't deliver the flooring as it wasn't in stock.

All in all I would not recommend B&Q to my worst enemy and I will never spend another penny in any Kingfisher store

Don't get me started on B&Q - pants company with appalling managers & even worse 'customer service'.
Had loads of hassle last year. >:(
