I'm on the SCottish Power 'Fixed Price Energy' scheme. Is this the same as capped? If I've read the website correctly, prices won't increase until 2011. Should I stay on this scheme? Anyhelp would be appreciated. Thanks!
If your referring to this no longer available tariff http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/pricing_pdfs/Fixed_Price_Booklet.pdf
it guarantees their will be no price rises until March 2011.If however prices should go down, you can leave it without a penalty.
A lot of people would love to be able to get their hands on this sort of tariff now ,and be able to fix/cap their energy prices for another 31 months.:T0 -
Definitely stay on that deal. Fixed price until 2011 is better than any other capped or fixed offer available now. You've got a winner there!
My understanding is that fixed prices are exactly that - a specific price that will not change at all until the specified end date.
Capped on the other hand means there can be a bit of flexibility, ie it may start at a certain rate but can rise up to a certain level - that's the "cap" on top. But often these are technically fixed rates - it's just a case of checking the details.0
