Can't rave enough about Drumroamin Farm campsite near Wigtown (Dumfries and Galloway) http://www.drumroamin.co.uk/

So I'll link to others who rave about it too (click on the link to 'reviews')

Hi Aviemore is fantastic for kids, highland folk museum, working sheepdogs demo, slededogs, see reindeer centre, go up the funicular railway up the side of the mountain and the highland wildlife park just some of the attractions, the dalraddy caravan park is just outside its a quiet park with a great camping area each have own pitch with bushes/small trees between each pitch and you can go accross the moors at the entrance to the park.

We have just came back from a night at Cobleland just outside Aberfoyle - it is run by Forest Holidays. We just stayed the one night as it was our first time as a family ( ds 11 & 8) We didnt book and got there about 1ish, by about 5 it was almost full! Lovely site, very clean, park keepers (?) were on patrol right up to 10pm and from 8am the next morning - plenty of kids running around. There is a good playpark and they also organise Ranger activities for an additional charge - it was quite exp to stay ( £24 for family of 4)but facilitites spotless - ever time I went up to the toilet someone was cleaning the showers out. The ranger activities for the kids looked exc too and started at about £3 a head, but when I seen some of the things the kids made it looked well worth it. The park is on the banks of the river, and further upstream there is a large pool in the bend - there were loads of kids in swimming. We would definately go back.
