Well, I am new to posting stuff on this website... Have read the e-mails religiously for a few months now but it has come to the point where I need some help and can't find it on here already posted....
Soooooooo. I want to invest in an electronic organiser/PDA thing but don't know a lot about them and don't want to be duped into buying an unnecessarily expensive one by a shop assistant. I have decided that I don't want it to connect to the internet and don't need an MP3 player on it. However, I would like it to be in colour, handwriting recognition would be useful I reckon and I would like to have a lithium battery thing so I can just plug it in to charge it. So if anyone has any tips on what to get, what not to get or how much I should be paying, it would be greatly appreciated!
Ta in advance ,
Kerry

If you use a mobile have you thought of upgrading to a smart phone which does all the functions of a PDA in addition to being a phone?0

It looks really smart and looking at this site http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,,79898,00.html
It appears to be compatible with PC Sync so it is a smartphone and will synchronise with your pc for diary & contacts etc, what else do you want from a PDA? :money:0 -
Hmmmmmm. i can use it with my pc then? Doesn't say that in the manual thing..... I am blonde so it has obviously got the better of me this time. I just wanted a simple PDA that I can put finances, diary stuff, reminders, passwords for computer/internet accounts etc. Sure I would find it easier on an organiser thing than on my phone....Total Debt (not incl. mortgage) £35,612 25/8/06 :mad:0

It's a fair point that your phone might do everything you really need, but if you still want a PDA the reviews and forums at http://www.brighthand.com/ are a good place to take a look.
I think PDAs are great - the (in my opion) limited functionality and screen size of the phone just doesn't compare. However, there is a huge range out there ... you'll find there is a quite a Pocket Pc (windows) vs palm divide, but there are basic models in each camp (I think the palm basic models are probably generally better regarded, but that could start a big arguement).
Palm's basic models are the Zires and the Tungsten Es, but I'm not so sure about the Pockets PCs - might be worth checking out the older models on http://www.expansys.com/ (not always the cheapest places, but quite a range.)0 -
Ta for that last post....off to try those websites and get my head round it....Total Debt (not incl. mortgage) £35,612 25/8/06 :mad:0

Thank you both for your help. The brighthand website was really useful and I have decided on the Palm Z22 model - seems to be pretty basic but I don't think I need all the jazzy stuff. Sounds like people get addicted to Palm and then have to upgrade but I think I'll stick with 22 for now. Thanks again for your advice!Total Debt (not incl. mortgage) £35,612 25/8/06 :mad:0
