Cooker Extractor Advice Needed

preciosa

I'm getting a new kitchen and am not sure what kind of extractor I need to get. The pipe comes through the wall and the current extractor is the flat type that sits under the wooden wall unit. I would rather get a more modern chimney one that comes from the ceiling but would that mean having to change everything.
Also, is it ok to put a dishwasher next to a hob?

IF by hob you just mean the hob, then yes that should be fine. If its the oven, then it may be problem. You will need to check if it needs an air gap etc

If you take a look at e.g. Bosch extractors you can look at the technical fitting details on-line, so you can see how the chimney ones are vented.0

We have an extractor hood that is vented to the outside, I hate it and will never have another one. How did we manage in the "olden" days, we didn't have them then!
I find that the metal filter greases up and although it can be washed, the workings above it, gets covered in grease also and they can't be removed for cleaning. We do not fry food very often either.
Yesterday I took the outer panel off to clean and there were some dead insects on it, they have obviously got in through the vent:eek:.
Next time we do our kitchen I will do without a hood, I would rather just have an expelair on the wall.
Sorry not much help:o0
