Thanks for the PM peej, I've amended OP.
Someone at work suggested no 8 looked like Rock Hudson (or maybe Gary Grant?) playing a Mountie. I've found a film "Due South" he was in but no matching pictures. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!0

Number 8 looks like they're in snow. Is it Avalanche ore Ice Station Zebra?
Can't find any matching pics... Save me from spending... Save me from spending...

Which would fit in with Madmonster's thought that number 8 is A Farewell to Arms. A friend also said "Rock Hudson" and "A Farewell to Arms" (without showing her this thread). But I have yet to see concrete evidence (im just watching various you tube clips to see...)
This is Rock Hudson in "Back to God's country", set in Alaska or somewhere. Have you come across that in YouTube?

I think it is A Farewell to Arms here is a screenshot from the film:
Notice the buttons on his collar and the bar on his left arm match the original pic. And the guy he's helping has his hand on his breast pocket you can just see the insignia between his fingers!
That makes it just one to go:T:jGood luck ALL compers and Thanks to all posters:T

They'd be stretching it a bit to describe the Rock Hudson version of "A Farewell to Arms" as a cult film. The Gary Cooper version perhaps. Not even Rock himself liked it.0

Just some ideas on the missing ones from my mate Gary at work, it might trigger someone's memory.
4 ~ very reminiscent of The Black Dahlia (old version)
8 ~ he thinks one of them looks like Farley Grainger (not a name I know) Me, I think it looks a bit Treasure of the Sierra Madre but that's deserty. not snowy.0

Farley Granger is the gorgeous man in no. 2 so they probably wouldn't use him twice. 0 man in no. 2 so they probably wouldn't use him twice. 0

Buster Keaton's eyes have eye liner in the images in google. But he does have the profile and hatTeachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.0
