NEW!!!!brain teaster! Credit Card Payment history!

Can anyone tell me how long payment history is kept on your credit file, both equifax and experian? ie for barclaycard?? or just in general??? (Really important)!!!

also, im a student that has defaults on two different  student accounts but at my halls of residents address (in Leicester), which is total different to my home address (in London). i have no active accounts at the leicester address. If i apply for credit and dont put my Leicester address in the forms, will my defaults appear or not?

  • Defaults stay on for 6 years.

The two addresses may be linked on your credit file.

The only way to see what the lenders see is to get your credit file. £2 by post (but you can apply online) or about £8 for an instant online view

  • Credit Card companies usually ask you on the application form "How long have you lived at your present address" and sometimes follow up with "Where did you live previously"
