theyre are sevral types of dongle theres a blue tooth dongle which can connect your phone to pc if yuo have bluetooth or theres a broadband dongle which allows connetion to the internet usning same technology as your phone so nor wires etc thses can cost up to 100 pounds although if you get contract there free and monthly charge is between 15-30 quid amonth dependant on networkReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. A dongle is a generic word for pretty much anything which plugs into a computer, though most of the time its USB. As jamespir says, the most common type at the moment are bluetooth dongles, which plug in and act as a bluetooth transmitter/reciever, allowing bluetooth devices such as phones to communicate with it. Other common dongles are the ones provided by companies such as 3 which act as modems, allowing you to go online without needing a phone line. Even usb flash drives can be called dongles, these are just portable storage devices, like CDs but they can hold much more information, and are much smaller.0
