British Gas Business / Home?

Hi,
I've just had the bill for the gas/elec for my new house that I'm renting, and the bill has come through on British Gas Business headed paper...
Is there any difference between the prices for a Home account to a business account?
The landlords had it under a business account when they were renovating- and just swapped our names over.

Hi

if its business default tariff which it sounds like it is - that is the new customer (you) has not contacted bg - usually they are + in the right circumstances they will also charge 17.5% VAT plus climate charge levy (an extra tax businesses pay on all kwh units used. Residentail rates are charged are 5% VAT and no ccl.

You are probably best going onto a residentail rate. BG may wish some sort of documentation to confirm its a residential property.

I called them., and they are changing it to residential- but it takes 6-8 weeks I hope I don't get charged those things you mentioned above.
