Pipe leaking in engine - Temp fix?

I have a pipe leaking in my engine there is a small slit on the pipe and it was spraying out water. Now my card will be going in 1-2 months is there a temp fix for now. (The car in not worth a lot anyway)

Would some sort of tape be ok?

is there enough room to cut the end off and pull it accross?

you can get tapes and stuff but i wouldnt trust it for 2 months...maybe enough to get home type of repair

There is no temporary fix for a leaking hose. Just go get another one. Should be plenty in scrapyards and you'll probably find a new one from a motor factors isn't that dear.

Its a hose and jubilee clip. It will cost less than !!!! all to replace.

Self-amalgamating tape might make a good short-term repair - but a roll of the tape would probably cost more than the hose itself.

I agree with the others. I had a similar leaking hose a while back and tried mending it with tape. The trouble was that the pressure built up when the engine was running and it kept leaking and the tape peeled off and I had to keep topping up the radiator etc. I'm no mechanic, but managed to get the right hose and jubilee clips and fit it myself for next to nothing.

looks like its what youd call a top hose ...get the dealer to have a look to confirm its what u need

A pipe will be a few pounds from a motorfactors.

Is might be easier to take the pipe off and take it to a motorfactors so diameter and length can be measured?
