Capped or Fixed

Hi everyone
I have done a couple of comparisons for my gas/elec and the best are fixed not capped.
I have a choice of staying with Scottish Power (currently on online tariff) fixed for one year or swapping to another supplier fixed for two years.
Do you think swapping to a fixed as opposed to capped matters and which should i swop to? The one year or two year.
Your adv peeps would be greatly appreciated.
