Bank Charges After Claimed

Hi All

I reclaimed all my bank charges early in 2007 and was given them all back. I have managed to avoid receiving a charge until now. Just been informed of a £35 charge being applied to my account for a returned cheque. It would have put me about £4 in the red. To be honest once I'd claimed I stopped reading the forums/announcements in here, but I thought there was a hold on these charges being applied. Can anyone please advise?

Thanks

  • There is a hold on claiming the charges back. There is no hold on the banks applying the charges. You can still apply to have this charge refunded but it will be more difficult to claim than last time; unless you are are experiencing financial hardship, because then you can claim under (clearer) hardship rules.

ps I have successfully claimed back charges on more than one occasion
