just upgraded my graphics card and didnt want to spend more than 50 quid. it isnt really possible to be honest. i ended up spending 100 quid on a 6600gt from ebuyer, it will let you play f.e.a.r, doom 3, quake 4 and anything else you want to throw at it. it isnt the best graphics card but after several hours searching and reading, it appears the best value for money card.

Don't think you can get anything decent for £50 I'm afraid! This is a PCI-Express slot and the only decent cards for these are going to be 6600GTs - anything less and you're probably wasting your money if you want to play serious games. You could always buy the machine from the small business site which comes without a card, but it's about £80 cheaper giving you enough leeway to buy a card. Expect to pay around £110 for one.
I paid £407 for an almost identical spec machine to this one when they had a price error and I took out the X300SE which was laughable for anything like HL2 or Counter-Strike Source. With my 128MB 6600GT on this machine I get a score of 8,600 on 3DMark03 which is pretty good, and the Doom3 demo gives well over 60fps.

Am i picking this up correctly - they are selling this PC without a graphics card. Does it not even have basic onboard graphics?

This suggests to me an error in the price/config of this PC?

If your into gaming then as mentioned the best value for money card is the 6600gt if not then any cheap card or even on board grahics may suffice.

I got a PCI-E 6600DV 256Mb for £45 from Microdirect last week on their daily offers page.
Much better than onboard graphics and i can use it for everything except the latest games, which suits fine..

Reading about the Pentium PC's is not filling me with confidence:

http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20010130/index.html - just read the conclution if you cant be bothered to read it all!

Will stick to AMD for now :) (looking forward to being flamed!)

That article is coming up for 5 years old. That's a lifetime in PC processor terms. It is dissing low speed Pentium 4's around about the 1.3GHz level. The offer mentioned on this page are 4GHz processors.
