Home insurance claim advice needed

I had a blocked pipe in my bathroom which was treated (by a company referred by my insurance company) with acid which spilt over. Water was then poured all over it, presumably to dilute or dissapate the acid. It poured down into my kitchen corroding electrics, ruining ceilings, plasterboards etc and flooding the place - it was running down all 4 walls. A loss adjuster appointed by the insurance company has now appointed industrial cleaners. I'm concerned however that the acid has leached into the chipbord of the (cheap) cupboards and want these replaced. Any tips or advice? Cheers.

Have you asked the loss adjuster about the replacement of the cupboards? If so, what was his reaction? Is the loss adjuster acting for your household insurers or for the public liability insurer of the contractor (or both)? Do you have an intermediary for the home policy or did you arrange the cover directly with the insurer?
Sorry for all the questions!
