What if a company owes me money?

A bit of a daft question here.........

I am on a monthly DD with BG and Southern Electricity. I intend to change to Scottish power.

At the moment, with it being the start of the winter, I have over paid BG. Will I get a cheque from them if I stop using them? Will it make a difference if I do it via energyhelpline?

Many thanks

Yes you will - or more likely, if you've been paying by direct debit, you'll get a credit to your bank account.

But you might have to phone up and ask for it first.

And you probably won't get it until they've got the final meter reading. The final reading should be the same as the first reading with scottish power - so they will get the reading from scottish power.

    No. :)
    :p
