Hi, I want to do a box for link romania, I dont mind posting the box but just wondered if anyone knows of any schools/person in the stockport area who are collecting boxes for them? I dont drive so getting it to the nerest person on the link romania site will be a struggle as its not near to me. I would rather spend the postage on extra things to go inside the box if that makes sense? so if theres anyone going past stockport to a collection point who could pick mine up on the way I would be grateful! (its not done yet though so no rush!)

EDIT also, do I need to register on the site before I send my box? Or is that just for people collecting the boxes?

Heya I looked it up for you and on this page it says:
For individuals and groups who have UP TO 60 Shoeboxes - please take your shoeboxes to your nearest Area Collector - see list below. The list of Area Collectors is regularly updated so if you do not see a collector in your area please contact us and we will help you. Ring us on 01903 529333 shoebox@linkromania.co.uk.

Hope that helps!

I am registered with Link Romania. If anyone rear Ilford in London/Essex has any boxes I would be happy to collect as I know there are only 3 in london collecting and all are based south of the river. I am not on there site but if you pm me I can give you my real name and address and you can call them to confirm that I have registered and booked a collection slot for 23rd Nov.

• Thanks for this post it has really inspired me and I'm going to crack on and get my boxes done asap.

I've bought some things today already & I like the fact that the box is for a whole family.

Thanks again for the inspiration!!

The official deadline is tomorrow but I've got until next week to drop off mine and all the ones I've persuaded colleagues to do - however it all depends on when Link Romania is collecting them from your local area collector (which they're doing between now and 5 Dec). It's worth phoning Link Romania or the nearest collector to see if it's still possible.

No you don't need to register beforehand. I'd speak to Link Romania directly to ask advice on the best way of getting it to them and by when.

I haven't spent much at all :o I saved lots of little bits and pieces through out the year, so that I wouldn't have to spend loads of money in November. I saved a few freebies such as a teddy bear which I got free from M&S, puppets from fabric conditioner, crayons from Pizza Hut, Lego free from the Mirror Newspaper.

A poster after my own heart! I've been sending off for things I've heard about through the freebie forum so have collected sweets, toys, bath products and so on. I've also been buying items when I see them cheaply for example I bought a load of picture frames from home bargains when I saw them. I've also looked out for good 3 for 2 offers and all that kind of thing. I've actually managed to do several boxes with very little spend
