You're very welcome. It's one of those things that niggles me from time to time so was good to refresh my memory too! :beer:0 -
When I applied for a credit card with MBNA they asked for bank statements dating back three years, so this may be something to keep in mind. Although it didn't have to be a bank statement, it could be any proof of address, they just wanted proof of my address history for the last 3 years.
Are you not on the Electoral Roll? I have applied for various credit cards over the years and have never been asked for proof of address over time. I wonder if they only ask for this if they can't find your details automatically on the Electoral Roll?
I have also had a few address changes over the past few years so am quite used to having to give previous addresses, but have never been asked for proof.
EDIT: Just to add, I just remembered that my wife recently had to provide proof of the date that she moved out from her mother's and moved in with me. Thankfully I had water bills and council tax information with her name on, plus documents showing the date of house purchase etc. Just goes to show it is worth keeping some stuff.0 -

I think it's because I've only been in the country a few years, and I've only been on the electoral roll for two years, because at first I didn't think you were allowed to be on the roll if you weren't a British citizen. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0
