Fuel Prices - What About Prepay?
Options
I am on a pre pay tariff, it was installed when I moved in and each time I have looked into changing it, I have found it to be very competetive.
Recently, I have found that as I "tart" my credit to 0% I also get 100 pounds worth of electric onto the card I am going to transfer, this way I don't have to worry about bills etc and I am getting my fuel at a good rate. As it is interest free, even though it is in advance, this seems like quite a good strategy and it works for me.
I know someone is going to say, it would be better to change to bill system and put money into an interest account? Or put money into an interest account anyway? but I enjoy the assurance that the electricity is sorted for a few months. Only problem Ihave had is when price went up in March, I did not recieve letter telling me it was going up until April.
Anyway, what I am wondering is a, is this a good strategy to recommend? remember some people have to use a prepay meter.
and b, should I in light of today's EDF price hike, ad more credit to my meter?
Money saving enthusiasts thoughts gratefully received!
