Tesco, is soap a bath product ?

Tesco gave us a voucher worth 70 extra points when we purcased 'any Dove bath product', but refused to honour the their own voucher because 'Dove extra sensitive soap ' is not a bath product ! How many items do they sell under false pretence ?

This happened to us too! Quite odd, I don't understand why the voucher doesn't simply say "excluding all Dove soap" or something. It's embarrassing when a voucher you've handed over in good faith doesn't scan. It's rather put me off buying Dove!
  • I had the same problem, when I went to the pet shop. I had to persuade the shop assistant that a white dove was in fact a bath product of sorts and that I would be using the bird as a loafer, albeit a slightly feathery one and not as harsh as a conventional one, eventually he backed down. His arguement was that he was worried I would use the bird as some sort of shaving foam brush, but I said he was being ludicrous.

Yes, you are right. It makes you look as if you are trying to diddle them, when you are acting in good faith ! How many times does this happen , I wonder ?

I bought some Dove shower gel and went to use the voucher - it wouldn't go through the till, the girl on the checkout said she'd had the same problem....so off I go to Customer services and she said she'd put it on for me.
Too right she would or she would of had the shower gel back - accumilated a few on the Nivea BOGOF!!!

If they are going to be picky on what it does or doesn't take to be a bath product it should say Bathfoam on it.

My CS will put any extra points on because very few of the extra points vouchers actually scan at the till, just show your receipt and product.

When did you get your voucher?

I once had a 50p Dove coupon in the post, also for bathing products excluding soap. So it might be a restriction Dove has put on Tesco rather than a Tesco oddity

I took the voucher to CS, and they said 'they could do nothing about it '.
