iPod Touch Currys - have I been sold old stock?

I did a 'Reserve and collect' on Currys Website for my very first iPod Touch on Wednesday. The email confimation and their website says its 'Apply 16Gb iPod Touch with softaware upgrade' £249 product code 255740.
Picked it up at Currys, got it home, unwrapped, uploaded iTunes and it said I needed to upload upgrade 2.0. It cost me £5.99.
From Currys website I assumed when it says 'with software upgrade' it means you have it - not that you also have to pay for it!
Fellow MSE's.... a few questions as this ipod stuff is all new to me:
1) Should I get a refund of £5.99 (irrispective of the amount should it have included the 2.0 software)
2) If Currys sold me an 'old' iPod (pre 2.0), apart from the software, is there any other difference between the older and new models, if so should I take it back to Currys and get a new one?
Many thanks
Richard

richard having looked at the currys website it mentions ipod touch with new software upgrade which to me means the itouch should have had the upgrade already on it,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
There was an upgrade a few months ago and another last week that cost £5.99, I bought my touch in May....
Knowing how up to date Curry's are they probably are still meaning the earlier 2008 update.
The new update allows you to use the applications that are available for the Iphone, some are free and some cost a few pence to a lot of ££££s.0 -
When it says "With Software Update" it means the software update that was released in Feb that cost £9.99. This added a few new applications that the iPhone had like e-mail. This is different from the 2.0 software update that came out a couple of weeks back.
The Hardware will be exactly the same as Apple haven't made any changes since it was first announced last Sept. On the software has changed.0
