Honda - Bad Service???

I really need to ask you opinions on this matter. I purchased a second hand Honda Jazz from Honda in Blackpool four weeks ago.

I took the car on the motorway and was doing just over 70mph (I know before I get lectured on this one). The car began to judder and pull over to the left.

I took the car into Honda Blackpool today at a pre arranged time. The service guys took the car out.

Technician Report: Road test vehicle to find rumble at 80mph. Pulls to left lots of road noise. S wheel not straight. Raise vehicle to inspect underneath and adjust tyre pressures.

Puncture N/J/R
tyre o/s/r 185-55-15

Apparently one tyre is split and another is punctured. The garage want £62 for the new tyre and 11 pounds something to repair puncture. I find it really hard to believe that all of this has happened since I got the car four weeks ago.
What would you do?

I bought a brand new car in September 2000 and within a week I picked up a puncture. My mum said that I should take it back to the garage as "its a new car and shouldnt break"

    To which I laughed at.

A lot can happen to a car in four weeks.
Lots of road noise could be caused by an out of round tyre, which could be due to a poor make of tyre or simply the tracking.

it may be hard to believe, but it will be even harder to prove the garage sold you the vehicle like this.
im sure you could shop around for a cheaper tyre but if they are fitting a brand name tyre then the price doesnt seem to bad.
you can check sites like this for tyre prices.

So I should just bite the bullet and buy new tyres? Does anyone have a discount for National Tyres please? I've found 10%, but a little bit more would be great.

I have to admit, I don't stop understand the technician report! Can anyone translate the problems for me please???? I can't even figure out which tyre is punctured and which is split! x

Yeah, I'd just buy a new set of tyres. Get them from mytyres.co.uk and have a local place fit them. Don't bother with Nat. Tyres discount codes as you can get them at mytyres for just over 50% of what National prices are.

the pucture is n/s/r nearside rear, which means left rear tyre. this is the puntured one.

o/s/r is off side rear, which means right hand side rear tyre. this one is needing replaced.

looks like you only need to replace 1 tyre.
