I'm trying to work out what this cable was used for. I'm almost certain it's a vintage computer cable, but I'm having difficulty identifying which make and model of computer its associated with.

Does anyone know of any websites that can help me identify this cable?

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper
They are male 5-pin DIN connectors, more commonly used for audio, but IIRC the BBC micro used them on the tape interface.

It looks like 5 pin din male to 5 pin din male, not usually used in computers but this type was used for cassette recorders/tape recorders and amplifiers.

It looks like a MIDI cable or an audio cable!

Also used on a BBC Music 5000 audio output, and my old tape deck used this for audio too!

Computer based, as everyone else says, MIDI or if really ancient a BBC computer tape connection. I have to box of these midi cables in the loft!

Other than that it was used for output and input for older sound recording.
