are southern electric lying to me?

Basically i've just called them to ask them to fix my rates for me and they have told me that they have no plans to increase their prices and i wouldn't benefit from fixing them. Are they lying to me??? Really confused now especially with all these talk of price increases.

Lying is a strong accusation, perhaps the CS employee was simply mis-informed or unaware of what their Chief Excecutive was saying yesterday.

Actually the CS advisor wasn't being dishonest at all. In the true sense of the word, SSE have no firm plans to increase prices, but "I can't see it won't happen before winter."


Edit: Do SSE offer any fixed rate tariffs currently?
I'm only aware of the fixed discount 2010 tariff which isn't a fixed rate but a fixed discount of 2% based on their Standard Energy Online tariff

Just phone them myself and got the same answer about capping...they are looking into though......maybe next year?...lol :rolleyes:

Bear in mind suppliers like to limit the numbers on customers on capped deals
