Nationwide

I have banked with Nationwide for many years now, can honestly say that they are fantastic, never had a problem with them at all, the online banking is great and the customer advisors on the telephone are brilliant. My Debit Card was cloned to the tune of about £2000, I phoned Nationwide to report that money was being taken out of my account, within minutes they had cancelled the card but put a tracker on it so if anyone tried to use a copy of my card it would alert them and the cash machine would swallow the card. Within an hour the person who cloned my card tried to use it, the card was swallowed, he got caught on CCTV at the cash point and Nationwide put the money straight back into my bank account same day. As my cards were cancelled and I had no way of getting out funds from the Account (I was at work in London when all this happened and cheque book etc was at home), Nationwide contacted the nearest branch to where I worked and arranged for me to go in and get cash out etc etc. After a week or so when things were back to normal and I had my replacement cards etc Nationwide phoned me to make sure all was OK etc and ran through a list of things I could do to prevent it happening again. Brilliant Service, I would reccomend them to anyone. :T

I too have had brilliant service from Nationwide in the 20+ years my husband and I have banked with them. My sons have Smart Savers and recently when my eldest turn 16 and needed an adult account they were one of the few banks who were helpful. When his cash card was retained by a cash machine just a week ago he was able to call and deal with it himself because the call centre staff were not only helpful but they actually did what they said they would and he had a new card within days. They even set up alternative measures for him to access his money in the event his replacement card did not arrive promptly. Brilliant, I too would recommend them.0

If you had tried to open an ISA with them this April, I doubt whether you'd be so full of praise for them!!!
Have a look at some of the threads in the ISA section of Savings and Investments if you don't believe me. I've wasted many hours in my local branch, on the phone and emailing and I still don't have my certificate."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -
I've not had any problems with them either, or at least not any that haven't been sorted quickly.0
