best credit card advice needed please

Hi

I need advice on which is the best, current cashback credit card available.
I am on a low income so the Amex Platinum one is out (needs £20,000 income?). Martin suggests Barclaycard but as I am an existing customer I am unable to get one (they told me I had to apply for a new card which I am reluctant to do in case I am refused for any reason, as it is the only card I have at present).

I am looking to make a couple of big purchases soon, so all advice would be greatly welcome.

Thanks

Egg Money would be my choice as the CAP1 card is a tricky card to get they
have special criteria for this card.. Egg Money only gives you 1 % though which is not a lot.

American Express Platinum is actually 'household income'. To quote their site: "I have an Annual Household Income of £20,000 (ie. your personal income plus partner's income)"

Do you have a live-in partner?

If not, ask your boyfriend/girlfriend to move in and voila, 5% cash back!
