Is it worth haggling with Direct Line for a better price?

I got a reasonable quote from them online, but being a moneysaver, i would like to pay a little less.

Is it worth ringing them up and saying i had a better quote elsewhere (which i did, from Tesco) and can they can beat it?

Has anyone done this or am i being too cheeky?

You may get somewhere on Home but on Motor i cant see it

Direct Line are a trading company of UK Insurance (part of the Royal Bank Of Scotland, I think). Tesco use UK Insurance to underwrite their motor policies.

I think it's worth a go and if you don't have any joy, switch to Tesco and enjoy the benefits of the same underwriter for a lower premium!!!

The quote on the phone was over £150 more than the online quote!! :eek: I'll just go with the online quote i think.....

I rang them when I got my Home renewal quote and was looking to cancel. They matched the quote I had from Co-Op Insurance which was £120 cheaper so defo worth a try
