i'm in the middle of changing supplier - can i change to another now?

About 5 weeks ago on the advice of this site i used one of the cashback/comparison sites to change supplier for gas & electric, it's still not gone through but that seems to be normal.
However,
I've just heard martin on the radio demanding we all change to capped rates NOW (before Monday apparently) and my worry is if i give my actuall current suppliers details (npower) and apply to go capped with someone else, whilst my previous change request is still in progress, the whole thing will end up in a mess where i don't get the best deal and have no idea who's supplying me, getting billed by 2 companies etc etc etc.
I can't find any advice on what to do on this site, only Martin on the radio demanding i change now!

He can`t demand you change now. It`s up to you what you do, but you`ll have to stay with whoever you`ve chosen for 28 days and then you can move.0

Martin was 'demanding' people switch to capped/fixed rates a couple of months ago now. Why didn't you follow his instruction then? Too busy trying to claim your council tax was too high perhaps? I'm sure he'll have a new drum to beat soon. It all makes good telly! :rotfl:
What did he say about making TV programmes recently? Oh yeah something about "To stay on air its about morphing, finessing and changing to provide a continuing interesting watch"

thanks that's a helpfull response, think i'll try and find out if the change is going through and cancell if not, if it's in progress and i need to wait 28 days looks like i've no chance of taking advantage of the capped deal.Don’t ask what the world needs.
