That is a fantastic tip
Everyso often I leave my lunch sitting in the kitchen at home and have to go and buy myself something.
I don't like keeping food in my desk 'cause generally if it's there, I eat it. But noodles take a bit of effort (well not that much I know, but I can't just dip into them for "just one more")
No more unplanned trips to the shop/canteen. Noodles it is."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
our blank order vouchers for stores used to be in triplicate but no-one ever looked at the other two copies.
We eventually persuaded them to just photocopy and then keep the front page and now everyone uses this way.
My next move is photocopying the vouchers two on one side so they are half size, I'm hoping becuase they take up less storage space that the people in our stores will catch on and issue them half-size too.
Simple things, but there must be at least a hundred vouchers written every day.:D
I also bring home bottles, cans and meal cartons for recycling, we can only recycle paper at work.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

It's been a while since this one's been in circulation and I was wondering if anyone's tried a staple free stapler?

I'm thinking of investing in one for work and home use
Any opinions on them?Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Hi, scuzz! The link doesn't say how many pages it will takeThe ones I've seen only *staple* 5 pages, which isn't much good to me. If they take 10, I'll have one too
OS at w*** is driving me batty at the moment. The office is like a furnace. I keep switching the heating off, but people complain that they're cold, despite the fact they're wearing shirt sleeves. They say I should open my office window if it's too hot   I'm used to a cool house, where we don't put the heating on until we're all wearing a jumper. We're a charity which worries about being charged for a bottle of milk we didn't receive   yet we're quite happy to squander £100s on heating.
I've set up paper recycling, but people won't walk to deposit paper as it's easier to throw it into the bin under their desk
Rather than look at things on the screen, people print things out   , then rather than reusing the back of the paper as a jotter, they shred it, and use a fresh jotting pad
I've started rifling through bins for recyclablesTold them that it's a good job I'm only there 2 days a week, or I'd have a wormery for compostables

I think most of these staplers are only for 5 or so sheets. Just wonder if they really work to the same standard as "normal" ones
This place looks like a dump. Someone else thinks they should do the recycling and they only seem to do it once a month!!Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
I work in my company's Health, Safety, Evironment and Quality Dept, and we're very much into sustainability and such like.
I do initiatives on energy saving, turning off lights and equipment (people persist in leaving the printers on constantly... Grr...)
We recycle paper in the special bins, we recycle printer cartridges. I made note pads from scrap A4 cut in half, and held at the top with a bulldog clip of a tied off treasury tag. I've even gotten my boss to do this.
If you're interested in saving money on energy, The Carbon Trust will come to your premises and make a report with recommendations, for free
All the company cars are diesel, which is /meant/ to be more environmentally friendly, but i'm not sure how effective it is..
I'm sure there's more but I'm a bit stuck now...0
