Not sure who I'm angrier with Halifax One or myself...
Have just been going through our last statement and realised that they'd charged us interest - we're on a 0% new purchase/balance t/f for 12mths and this doesn't expire until Nov - or so I thought!!!
I rang to find out what was going on to be informed that because we made one late payment, not only have they charged us £12 but they have also removed the 0% interest and will not reverse their decision despite my insistence that our payment history shows we are very good payers!!! It does say in the terms and conditions that they MAY remove the promotional rate if late payment occurs - but we read that as if it was consistently late not a one off in an otherwise good history!:mad:
Anyone else had this??

Happens with almost all CC compaines if you make a late payment they usually issue a £12.00 and remove any promotional rates immediately it will usually state this in your terms and conditions.
Not much you can do except complain and hope they reinstate the promotional rate or look for another credit card to transfer the balance to to a new promotional rate.0 -
I've not had this but loads of people have....... a lot of people have had the 0% re-instated if they rang up their CC provider and asked niceley (assuming it was the first offence). If you rang up angry or whatever they're unlikley to help you out in general. The easy way to avoid this is to always set up a DD to pay at least the minimum payment as soon as you get your new CC....
Bad luck! It is your own fault though!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

Sorry for your troubles, but as you said yourself, it was there in black and white on the agreement you signed. I'd advise that next time you read something, don't try to put a spin on it. Just accept it as a plain statement of fact.
You paid late==you are a late payer.0 -

I know its my fault! But I misjudged how long the payment would take to go through and the last time I had a credit card, they didn't do this. I also was polite when I spoke to the supervisor and said that I felt that it was unfair and appreciated that it wasn't her decision but that surely she could see that it wasn't our usual way of managing our account... no go though..Life....mmmm....still trying to figure that one out but what I do know is if I had all the answers it'd be a hell of a lot easier!!!!!!:p0 -
I think that is you wind the clock back 12 months, almost always they would reverse the decision and put you back on the 0% promotion and usually refund the £12 late payment charge.
However, now the economic climate is harsh and the banks are not making the profits that they used to, and they seem much more reluctant to be lenient in these cases.
If they really will not reverse the decision, then get yourself another 0% card and Balance Transfer elsewhere. If they see that you are moving then they MAY just put you back on the 0% deal.

I'd suggest you get a DD for the minimum amount put in place on your next credit card to prevent just this sort of mistake.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
