Who or what is Moneysavingexpert .com

I have had a very frustrating and expensive phone call to Elephant .com about car insurance. I used moneysavingexpert.com to read up on car insurance. I then used one of the links to get some quotes. The cheapest was Elephant .com. The link from them was to phone -a number was given and a I had to quote money supermarket.com. I rang this morning and explained what I had done in order to contact them and that I had a quote. This resulted in great concern from "Chris" who was on the phone. It seems that all their quotes are made direct and they have no links to any other sites. At my expense he had to go off to talk to a manager-for quite a long time!!!! He came back quizzed me again and then announced that noone had ever heard of your site and that they had never given me a quote. I asked them to quote again and the result was £130 more than quoted via the site. I was a bit fedup with the whole situation. It seems that the only way I can contact the site to tell you about it is via a Chat board so I hope someone picks this mailing up.

Hi
OK let me clear up a couple of things. First of all its important that the quote you are talking about came from Moneysupermarket not from this site. The full methodology is mine, but the screen-scrapers is Moneysupermarkets hence the confusion.
Second the fact the call-centre person hadn't heard of it is pure ignorance. Though actually there's a slight confusion, the quote you are getting is a quote from elephant, it is entered for you (with some assumptions) by moneysupermarket, as is explained in the article. So it is in fact a direct quote from elephant.
Moneysupermarket is a 'screen-scraper' in other words you put in details and it fills out the quote forms on a range of insurers for you. This is a commercial relationship between Moneysupermarket and elephant. The fact the call-centre staff didn't know that is poor communication on elephants behalf

Thanks for clearing that up. It was in fact from moneysupermarket which i accessed via the site. "Elephant"were still very snooty in my opinion and I will not be talking to them again!!!0
