ok the symptoms are, i plug in the power supply and there is power going to the power supply all the way to the tip but no power is going to the laptop it self. there is 3 lights on the laptop. light 1 shows the battery charging/charged. light 2 shows the battery is being used. light 3 shows it is running by electric. when it is plugged in lights 1 & 3 are on. when it is not plugged in light 2 is on.
well even when plugged in no lights at all come on so i know it is not the power supply could anyone suggest what it might be.
any thoughts would be helpful.
thanks.

how old is the laptop - it 'might' help if it's an old laptop (and thus an old battery) to take the battery out completely and try just running it from the mains."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0

the laptop is just over a year old and i've tried to run it without the battery and still no luck. i am probably going to have to send it away to get it fixed.Hello Floor Make Me A Sandwich!0

I have had laptop power cables go, seem to wear at the end nearest the laptap, so the power pack still gets power!
Do you know anyone with the same laptop, that you can try this on?0 -
nope but i did an electrical test and ther was power going to the end piece. also tried another power supply and it still had no life in the computer.
that was when i thought it was the laptop more than the power supply.Hello Floor Make Me A Sandwich!0
