Sharing internet, please help

Hi, I havent really got a clue so was hoping someone could advise me. I have a computer downstairs on Windows XP connected to NTL broadband. My son has my old computer windows 98 in his bedroom. Can I buy one of those router things as in Argos to enable him to use the internet in his bedroom? If not, can anyone advise me on what I could do. Thankyou, Angela.

Me too please, teh same question. It reads as if I cn create a network, sharing teh one broadband modem.

Does that mean both comps can surd the net at teh same time for the one monthly fee?

Is it easy to det up?
    Thanks

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Sorry for the dodgy spelling, I was clealry half asleep.

We're using a Dell something or other (3000?). And are currently using a BT Voyager? Our ISP is AOL (I know but we like it).
