Colour Coding / Matching Floor, Furniture and Worktops

1) I am thinking of laying Oak effect laminate flooring in a bedroom (mum's room). She wants Beech coloured furniture. Will this match OK or is it a definite no no?
It's still not too late for me to buy Beech laminate :-)
2) I have a large amount of Anthracate tiles which I intend to lay in the kitchen. These looked slate colour when I bought them, but looking at them again in the light, they seem to have a greenish tinge. Anyway, kitchen units are white "tongue and groove (B&Q Country / Homebase Amalfi / Wickes Edmonton) style and I was thinking of a dark (black) matt worktop. Can anyone suggest a colour that will go nicely with the tiles, please.
Ideally this would look OK with a champagne coloured granite composite sink which I already have, although I would consider buying a new stainless steel one.
3) If I lay wood-style laminate in the living room and adjoining bedroom, is it best to lay the same colour in both or gto for something different (eg. light oak / dark oak)?
Thanks in Advance,
Mandy
