Eon rip off

How about this one?
Eon sent me a bill for £1300 in early December and it took until early January for them to apologise because they'd got the reading wrong from my electric meter.
They have just done the same again. Transposed the most significant digit by one. therefore 44198 becomes 54198. Over £1000 please. Threats of debt collectors and court action seem unstoppable. Seems a trifle difficult to believe its a mistake as it's also happened to my partner, my in laws mother, my brother...exactly the same "mistake". Has it happened to you or do you trust Eon (like I USED to)

Do you pay your energy bills online? Can you submit your own meter readings online? That way, you'll end up with less confusion.
I had a big gas e-bill from British Gas whilst away at work, and was horrified as it said they'd read the meter too, and not an estimate! When I got home, I checked the meter, just to be sure it was right before parting with lots of money, and low and behold it was completely wrong.
Either they'd read the wrong meter, or forgot to put it was an estimate. I did enjoy yelling at someone on the phone though.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
