On behalf of my business owning friend if I may
It turns out that the business she owns has 2 electric meters and only one has been read since she opened the business almost 3 years ago
Ive read on here that cause its there fault if it was a house they could only claim back a years money but is this the same for a business?
If it is could someone please give me a site to read and print off for her?
Mnay Thanks in advance

Even the OFGEM website says the changes to only back bill one year were for domestic customers, there is no mention of non-domestic customers.

I thought is bump this up a bit as shes so desprate and this could cause her bancrupsy
Were not talking a small amount here £18000 shes just had a bill for
Ive spoken to her some more. The factory has 2 metres and both have been read by an agent however only 1 has been charged for
Now I think tough they read them if they cannot be bothered to charge you then thats the electric companies fault
She has been offerd 20% off now to get her to pay up but the monies just no thereMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

The company that reads the meter is only an agent of the supplier and will just forward the readings and may advise the supplier if things don't match up. I have to say that I would have thought your friend would have realise before now that only one meter was shown on the bill not two.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

no she genuinly had no idea
They changed the meter over about 2 and a half years ago to a newer one and have never according to the electric company charged her since but have been reading it hence the discount offered
Maybe its just me but if I was getting the size of bill thats she has been then id assume I was paying for all meters as well, were talking thousands
Unlike my house bill of £40 a month LOLMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
