Evening All,
Bidding has just ended on an item of mine. The item is widely available on buy-it-now for about £3-4. Mine sold for £16! With three bidders fighting for it.
Problem is this was a mini version, and you can get a large version for about £15-20. I'm guessing they mistook it for the large version.
A first my reaction was to see if the buyer meant to bid that much... But my description was accurate, so I am not in the wrong. But when they receive this in the post I'm sure they will do an immediate chargeback, and I don't want any problems. The item was new, so, well you know PayPal...
What to do!!!

Thanks masonic, made me laugh. I was aiming for helpful here!
Also, the buyer is from Canada. Now they want an invoice. I shall write please check the item listing before paying... or something...they owe me FVF anyway now...
Aarrgghhh.
Quite funny though. I might buy up all the £3 items now if I knew this would happen...:wall:0 -
It's a tough one. That's why I kept my mouth shut. On one hand, you don't want the fuss of them getting the item and kicking up a stink; on the other, you don't want to spook them, or let them know they're paying way over the odds if they don't know. Think I'd have to resort to tossing a coin over this one.0

I have wrapped the coin in bubble wrap and jiffy bag, wrote airmail and tossed it. Now I don't know what it's showing.
Sorry, trying to be funny.
I casually mentioned in the invoice for the buyer to 'revise the item description' so she is happy with the transaction. In case she didn't read it I also sent the same message via email. Now I wait for her not to pay. *sigh*
I am just being greedy to not be upfront about it - 'you bid on the wrong item love'. Will pay for it later!:wall:0 -
Well, whatever happens, at least you can say you did more for the buyer than you had to.0

what is their feedback like?
It is their own fault if it is the wrong item. Some people on ebay can't get out to get these things etc and they also might not be available in their countries etc!!
if they don't pay then just go through the nbp procedure!! then when you relist make your listing 72 times new roman bold font!Angel

As long as you made it perfectly clear in the auction listing that yours was the mini version and where necessary gave dimensions or load capacity (or whatever would identify it) you shouldn't have a problem.

I did make it clear. And she has 214+ves and member for 2 years.
And now she has paid!
I just don't get it. I just hope my item description and the email I sent her (through Ebay) will be enough to protect me when she kicks up a fuss...
What a shame I'm off on holiday next week... I might miss out on the events unfolding...
Thanks guys.:wall:0 -
if you have done nothing wrong you really have nothing to worry about!! maybe this is a case of more money then sense!!
