Slow Energy Saving Light Bulbs

Some energy saving light bulbs take ages to worm up to full brightness. I have some cheap ones that take nearly 5 minutes.
I have others that are almost fully bright instantly.
Does anyone know how to tell which ones will be fast or not?
I've got loads of duff bulbs now. I'm gonna end up not saving much money at all.
Thanks

Well they do tend to be slightly slower but not 5 minutes. I use megaman and Philips and they take about a minute does the megaman I have then as spotlights in the bathroom0

Some are described as 'Quick Start' - I'm not sure how accurate this description actually is."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

There should really be a measurement on the packet.
I've bought some really cheap ones before, and they've been great.
But I suppose generally, you get what you pay for.0 -
I have a variety of bulbs and some are much quicker to start than others. Megaman is very slow. The best I have is a B&Q CFL Spiral 12W which is almost instant start.0
