Hi all, hope everyone is well.
Was just wondering if someone could shed some light on this situation for me!
Just sold an item for 0.99 all in, but it won't let me authorise payment as its from credit card! Paypal is telling me I need to upgrade, but that costs too much!
I was not aware of this, what do you think I should do?
I am selling multiple items, should I change my listing to say only paypal cleared funds or bank accounts accepted?
Oh, hope this doesn't all go wrong!!
Thanks for reading, any advice welcome!

You can't specify 'cleared funds only' if you have the PayPal logo on your auction, you have to remove the logo and then write that you will accept cleared fund payments only. Sadly, not many people read or understand this and you'll still suffer from this problem. Easiest way out is to upgrade to a premier account - its free to upgrade and allows you to accept all payment types but you pay to accept payment and withdraw money. He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0

You can upgrade, then downgrade again, but you can only do it once. (It is against ebay T&Cs to refuse the payment.)
If you remove paypal from your 'payments accepted' then you can put a line in your listings to say you also accept funds payment through paypal, but as Malestrom suggests, that method is not idiot proof. Buyers do, however, need to contact you to find out where to send the payment if you do this, so at least you can remind them not to use a card.0 -
