Citroen picasso - power steering prob/rumbling noises

We bought a brand new picasso in March and it started rumbling (sounds to be in the left when I turn right). Whe I took it in for check they said it was something to do with the power steering and that it would drive itself out.

Anybody mechanical know if this sounds right - our buying experience wasn't great with them and I don't rightly trust them. Would like to know what I'm talking about before going back.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Seeing as it's still under warranty, is there another Citroen garage nearby you could ring for a second opinion?

Check the fluid level in the system, check for broken/damaged boots over the CV joints on the driveshafts.

Take it back - and then, take it back.

Any dealership will do. Just take it back. Don't let them win - if its not right, tell them. And take it back! :D

It is sooo annoying I know, but if you are not happy, then keep at them. Contact Citroen directly too.

  • as jennieblue said,

take it back, then again, then again plus phone citroen customer services (on3rd time only, give them a chance), this will get HQ involved and they will demand updated reports from dealer, eventually if dealer cant fix a citroen bod will pop down and go over car, eventually fixing it - as it might not be a common problem (defo not one original picasso as i worked for citroen for 4 years.
I maybe crap with money but im good with cars;)

It is such a pain, isn't it.

You don't expect hassle when you buy a new car.
And don't get me started re my hassles.... :D

But I'm over that now, nearly...

Good luck and keep at them!! Become the biggest pain that they have ever encountered and as previous poster said, the 'bod' will come out from Citroen if need be (eventually), but you'll have to kick up a bit first. I know you shouldn't have to, but sadly, that is life.

    Keep us informed.
