Keyboard in a funny language!

My friend is on msn trying to tell me about a problem with her keyboard! its not in english and all the settings on her computer say they are! she has tried control panel - language & keyboard but they all say english! what can she do!?
she has mcafee security and can't open it to do a scan! I suggested she may have a virus but haven't a clue! any help please

Sometimes Windows gets it's underwear tangled and it'll say something whilst not actually doing it.
So what you have to do is change it to another language (eg US English) then change it back to UK0 -
It could be a computer virus that is changing the key strokes into random characters.
Start > Run > msconfig
Disable every thing on the start-up tab
Save
Restart
Run Virus Scan0
