Quick Ebay Question....

bbascially is it possible for a seller to see his own auction and see what the maximum amount a bidder has placed on his auction???

if yes how?

Comments

  • Yes you can view your own auction, but you can only see what the maximum bid is after the auction is completed.

Obviously, if the seller could see a bidder's maximum bid beforehand, then this would open the door wide open to easy shill bidding!

You can see the maximum bids of the non-winning bidders.

Afraid it doesn't work like that.

Just because you get an amount bid at one auction, the next time you list it, it might go for a LOT less.

Personally, I sold a car on eBay, I sold it, the buyer had a few legitimate problems with money (his house was robbed and I met him and all was sorted out) anyway, I relisted the car and got £400 LESS.

    So be careful

  • Hi,

Just logged in to say hello.

Are there many free tools for finding bargains on ebay?

    i know of a few

    fatfingers.co.uk
    auctiontypos.com
    no-bids.com

but are there any others that find bargains automatically or is there a page on here i've missed.

    Thanks

At the end of the auction you still only see the winning bid, you never get to see the highest proxy. So if buyer wins with a £100 bid that's what you will see, you won't get to see whether or not he had a proxy in for £200 for instance.

Anyway, if your item sells the first time you wouldn't be auctioning it again unless you have identical items. If you do have an identical item then you know your bidder has already bid the most, so it is likely to go to the under bidders who you know wouldn't pay as much as the winner on the first one.
