Just a quick rant

Signed all contracts on monday and was told would be getting the keys tomorrow. However halifax have still not faxed over details of releasing the funds (although "apparently" the guy on the phone said he could see no problems) to my solicitor.

Now whenever i try to ring my solicitors they seem to fob me off so i hope they are chasing this up. they keep saying yes ill ring them but whenever i ring back i get told they have to ring them again!!!

DO you think this is going to be a problem??

Must be really frustrating for you. Hopefully your solicitors will get their fingers out of their bottoms and sort it out asap.

    Good luck

If you are legally completing tomorrow you should get the keys tomorrow. After dealing with 1000's of sales it is rare to get to completion day and for it not to happen. So, easy for me to say I know, but relax and let the process take care of itself.

me and the seller both agreed tomorrow altho the solicitor kept saying tomorrow or next friday.

but have just rang the estate agents and the seller is dropping the keys off at 2.00pm...so fingers crossed!!!!:T

just waiting for the solicitor to ring halifax back at half 3! apparently halifax have got a backlog.

You are getting me confused? Have you merely signed contracts or exhanged contracts? Big difference. If you have exchanged you will have a definite completion date as set out in the contract. If you have only signed
contracts I can see why your solicitor says could be tomorrow or could be next week. You and the seller can only agree dates once your respective solicitors have confirmed those dates are OK to agree.

our solicitors have confirmed them dates are ok, im sure.otherwise why would the seller be dropping her keys at estate agents today?

another hiccup at bloody 5pm last night as solicitors were closing.solicitor rang me and said halifax now have a problem with the £1500 cashback we receive as part of the scheme.(5% gifted deposit plus cashback)

we were told when we applied for the mortgage that halifax didnt mind this scheme.so no we either have to pay 1500 today to move or not move at all.

HOWEVER lol, rang halifax myself and they said there is absolutely no problem with this.he even spoke to his manager and couldnt see why she has said this!!!funds were released on tuesday so surely if they have released funds , they would have looked for a problem beforehand?!!

and to top it all solicitor is now on bloody holiday.

strongly worded letter will be going there way once i have keys lol!!
