iTunes keeps freezing!!!

I've not long updated my iTunes and now every time I load it with I iPods pluged in it freezes up. If I start it with my iPods disconnected its fine but as soon as I connect them it stops responding. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be??

Its version 7.7.0.43. I've got two ipods, I 1gb 1st gen nano and a 32gb touch. The problem only seems to occur when the touch is connected. Any idea's?0 -

I get the same thing on my Mac. Whenever I connect my iPod, iTunes freezes. The iPod eventually shows up after two or three minutes.
It seems to be a bug in iTunes 7.7.0 -

itunes is an absolute system hog on Windows - have a google for the many alternatives to it.0

Not interested in alternatives. My PC has never had any problems running it before, just want it fixed!0 -

Does the iPod show up eventually?
As I said above, mine does this, and it seems to be a known bug in iTunes 7.7.0
