Anyone know about Macromedia Contribute 3?

On my works computer everytime I try and open a document it comes up with "preparing to instal macromedia contribute 3" and then 5 mins later it says "the feature you are trying to use is a cd rom that is not available".

I havent a clue what its all about. It never used to be on there appeared one day about a month ago (think someone else had been using the computer on my day off) but how do I get rid? Its driving me mad.

is it on your installed programmes list? or appear on add/remove hardware?

I dont know. How can I find out? I am not very technical (can you guess!)

If it's your works computer, do you not have an IT department who would deal with it?

Well we do have an IT dept which translates into 1 person who is off on annual leave until 23rd August!

It's a content management application for managing large websites (usually corporate), could be that there are some links / plug-ins looking for it on your PC. Do you have any other adobe suites installed, or perhaps a trial of it linked to GoLive or Dreamweaver?

They won't be recent versions of Dreamweaver or GoLive either. Since Macromedia no longer exists and Contribute is currently in its 5th version.
