Donegal/Derry border - Petrol price drop

I've been told there's a 5c/litre price drop in unleaded and diesel at Bridgend, most likely at other border and Donegal petrol stations too

c. 139.9 diesel 129.9 unleaded

129.9 cent is 102p so still worth going slightly out of your way for.

Anyone know if the price has also dropped on the Armagh, Louth/Monaghan area? Paid 144.9 last week for Derv at Morgans near Carrickdale.

So there is a petrol station there! Is it on the other side of the new road to the carrickdale? There's a sign for services but once you go off the main road there are no further signs so I didn't know where to go. Must look it up on google.
I paid 136.9 at a petrol station near Slane on Saturday. It was 139.9 for diesel iirc.

It's more of a fuel depot than a petrol station. They don't sell unleaded there, just Diesel (White and Green) and Kerosene.

To get there, take the new dual carriageway towards Dundalk and come off at the first junction for Jonesborough. This will take you down onto the old Dublin road. After you pass the old BP station and cross the border, follow the road for another 500 yds and there is a small turn to the left, I think it's signposted as O'Meath - 4KM, take it and then turn immediately left again, this brings you to the fuel depot. If you get to the Carrickdale Hotel, you have just missed the turning.

At the weekend (3 August), diesel prices were 5p cheaper in Muff than in Bridgend. With the new Skeoge bypass, it's much easier now to get from one to t'other.

It's currently 128c/129c (different stations) in Omeath and Dundalk - gave some a call. Petrol that is of course. That works out at £1.01p. A lot cheaper than the £1.15 going here in Newry.

And Yorkie, to get to Morgans its much much quicker to take the next exit (I think its signed Exit 16 or 17?) - the Carrickdale one. Then go around the roundabout (to the left) then the station is about 250m on your right past the hotel.

For my vechicle which is a Vauxhall Meriva, a 5p drop would save me £2:00/tank, so this deal would be 3 times as much. good news if you live locally.
  • Just worked out how much it would cost to get from Derry to Belfast, by car.

    (A) Look up the KMPL fuel efficiency of your car, mine is 18.58 KMPL - A search in Google will answer this

    (B) Find the distance by road between i.e. Derry and Belfast, I looked on Google Maps, switched to Route finder, and found it to be 100KM. (Call this Distance)

    (C) Find the price of petrol per litre in your local petrol station, or one accross the border, according to this post, 102p per Litre (Call this Price)

    (D) Distance / KMPL * Price = Cost

In my case, £5.38, which is much cheaper than the bus! :)
