Transactions including Balance Transfers usually take a couple of days to show up on your Balance, they tend to go through a "Pending" status first.

However, often the "Available Credit" will take account of these "Pending" transactions before they actually show on the account.

Could this be the route of your discrepancy ?

OK, it is a little to understand without actually seeing the statement.

Why not call them up for an explanation, and if there is an overlimit fee then see if they will remove it for a "first time" offence.

Argh just had a thought limit is £4700 and we are £199 over which means someone has spent £543.50 should I ring and cancel it in case it gets used again

Well I think you are £199 over your limit because of the pending transaction of £204.95.

If this wasn't there, you would be £6 below your £4700 limit.

You won't know what this amount is until is actually goes on the account, so you will need to keep a close eye on it.

However, forgetting this pending transaction, your transactions show a balance of £4455.50, not £4694.05, so I think you need to find out why there is a difference here. If necessary call them and ask for a breakdown of transactions.

Also do you know what this pending £204.95 is ?

If there has been fraud, you will need to pinpoint specific transactions that you did not make.

Hotels sometimes "pre-authorize" certain amounts to cover bar bills and expenses whilst you are staying there. Once you have checked out and settled your bill, these "pre-authorized" amounts can remain pending on your card for several days, then eventually they drop off. Perhaps this £204.95 is to do with this ?

Balance Transfers can take up to 10 working days to process and it is quite normal to see the balance on both cards for a few days, but keep an eye on thebalances to ensure that it does go through correctly.
