I believe this is when you're purchasing a last minute deal??? The £25 off can only be reclaimed against what you pay to hotelclub (the deposit) not what you're left to pay to the hotel.

:j Thanks to Jenny and MSE for another fantastic deal!
We're off to Spain next month with cheap flights from Ryanair and this deal has helped us get slightly better rooms than we could have afforded.
Have also managed to book Spanish train tickets via RENFE with a 60% discount for booking over 15 days ahead. Apart from being money saving which is really great we know know exactly where we are going and when etc with tickets in hand - we usually spend so much time when we are away looking for hostals and looking at train and bus timetables!
Thanks MSE you are all wonderful ! CHI xx :beer:0 -

Not sure if it was a last minute deal as it was start of October but i see what you mean and that would explain it thanks. As i just randomly tried another date and hotel and you were then paying direct to hotel club and members dollars amount did discount.0 -
Has anyone tried booking a price on request room. Going to India in February so wanted to know if the dollars still worked when getting price on request.0

What’s the deal?
Hotel broker Hotelclub.co.uk is giving new customers £25 off rooms in when they sign up. Don't worry though, while its called a 'club', there are no subscription or joining fees, it's just a cheap hotel booking site. These vouchers are valid at over 40,000 hotels in the UK and worldwide, as long as you book before the end of this year.
There’s no minimum spend, so depending on the price of the hotel, you could bag a night for just a couple of bob or just get a decent discount.
This could make a room uber-cheap
As an example, we found the Stratford Hotel London for just £27, so you'd pay £2 for a night’s stay. The Inner Hotel Amsterdam can be as cheap as £14 a night, meaning two nights for £3. Alternatively, the Lyon Hotel in Barcelona costs £31 a night, so just £6. These are just a few examples taken at random (rates vary).
How to grab a bargain room- Step one. Sign up
Sign up for a new account at Hotelclub.co.uk (using this link). On the page you should see the £25 offer. If not, be careful: once this loophole goes in the weekly email to 2.3m people, there's a chance Hotelclub will end it quickly, so act fast.
Hotelclub.co.uk has advertised this promotion on the London Underground. This is for new customers only, but it doesn’t say one per household.
- Step two. Log in
When you log in to your account, your account balance should be $49 (it converts the £25 into US dollars). You can’t use it on Hotelclub’s special last minute booking offers.
- Step three. Book a room
It's important to note the offer ISN'T valid on Hotelclub’s special last minute booking deals.
Yet it is for all the rest, you must book before 31 December 2008 and can stay anytime. When making a booking, it will ask if you want to use ‘member dollars’ to pay. The system then converts the dollars into the currency used in your booking.
Obviously whether you get a free room or just a discount is up to you, but there are a lot of sub-£50 and quite a few sub-£25 rooms so you could get a serious bargain. If you're going to book a more expensive hotel, then the impact of the £25 is lessened, and it's worth seeing if you're still getting a bargain using the Cheap Hotels guide.
If you spot any other super cheap eligible hotel bargains using this system, please click reply to let other MoneySavers know by posting below.
Even better, click through cashback site Topcashback or Cashbackkings when you book, and you’ve a chance of making £15 cashback on top.
This cashback isn’t guaranteed however, as cashback sites don't always let you combine two offers. Cashback sites are specialist websites that list retailers and product providers. They get paid by the retailers if you click through them, but importantly they then give some or all of this cash to you (provided you've registered which is free).
If you're a first time cashback site user, please do read the full Best Cashback Sites article for a full explanation of the pros and cons.
For more bargains and a loophole to get the ultimate top deal on 'name your price' sites, read the Cheap Hotels guide.
Thanks to hellofreebies for the awesome spot; this post was inserted so we could give MoneySavers the full lowdown.
