dvd rw tray stuck open on acer pc, Help!

Options
HI, I pressed the eject button on my dvd drive and the tray ejected, but will not go back in.

Does anybody know how you can fix it?

If not do you think the warranty will cover it as the pc is only 3mths old.

Thanks in advance if anybody can help.

    That's not a DVD drive, it's a cup holder.

    :p

But seriously, have you tried simply restarting?

On the dvd there should be a pin sized hole. Stick a needle in there and push the tray quite firmly back in at the same time. If that doesn't work then try claiming on the warranty.

Have you tried pressing the eject button again?

It could have lost power, if you are brave you could open up your PC and see if a cable may have somehow fallen out or something?

Take off the side panels, slacken off the 4(maybe only 2) small phillips head scews that hold the drive in the case.Give the drive body a wiggle as you press the close button.
